A Christian Answer To Alcohol, Drug, & Substance Abuse

For The Addicted Seeking Freedom

BETHEL COLONY OF MERCY

We are a Bible-teaching ministry for those who are interested in a Christian approach to treating substance abuse and alcoholism. We teach the addicted that there is victory through Jesus Christ and the truths of the Bible. Our addiction treatment center offers classroom teaching, workbooks, audio tapes, personal counseling, and worship services. Bethel’s treatment center is primarily designed to produce in each person a more effective lifestyle in which he allows Jesus Christ to take control of his life to achieve victory over addictions.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE MINISTRY

Looking for a free (except for a minimal entry fee) drug and alcohol rehab with a faith-based approach using the Bible and Christian principles in counseling? Then, Bethel Colony of Mercy, located in Lenoir, North Carolina, is the place for you. With only an entry fee of $350.00, Bethel Colony is a 65-day residential program that teaches victory over sin through Jesus Christ and the Bible.

This is done through classroom teaching, audio tapes, counseling both at the Colony and online, homework, worship services, and work projects. Our program is designed to provide a vital context in which the students are encouraged to know Christ personally and to understand the practical outworking of the Word of God in meeting every need. Daily teaching, counseling, devotionals, guided personal Bible study and prayer provide the means by which these objectives are accomplished. This, combined with a disciplined schedule, healthful climate, nutritious food, and relaxing recreation, soon restores a measure of physical health and a more positive mental outlook. The students also participate in routine maintenance of the facilities, general upkeep of the grounds, and community projects. Bethel Colony’s program is primarily designed to produce in each student a more effective lifestyle in which he or she allows Jesus Christ to take control. Please read About Bethel Colony under Who We Are for more information.

TESTIMONIALS

I have personally seen the Lord use Bethel Colony of Mercy in a mighty way in the lives of so many, including myself.  As a former graduate, and now a pastor and Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader, Bethel Colony has been a tremendous asset to our church over the past 15 years.  Sometimes a person needs more than just a Sunday morning message and a weeknight meeting.  Bethel Colony is a safe, Christ-centered ministry that I recommend to anyone needing a spiritual transformation.

I can’t begin to express my gratitude for Bethel Colony of Mercy, as a Recovery Pastor, as a Dad and being in recovery for over 20 years myself it’s truly a blessing to see the life-changing impact that their program has on men and women bound by the chains of addiction. We have sent many to Bethel who have come out and used what they’ve learned to disciple others in their church and our Celebrate Recovery Program.
My own daughter was a raging alcoholic, living a life of sin and chaos…. But God! Something beautiful happened to her up on that mountain and she is forever changed and has become the woman of God He intended her to be. She’s now helping other women in their journey.
If you or someone you love is struggling and looking for freedom, it can be found in Christ Jesus at Bethel Colony of Mercy.

Going to Bethel changed my life in so many ways. They helped me understand the Bible and God’s word. Between the classes and personal counseling, I developed a relationship with God and he has rescued me. I developed lifetime friendships and they are always there for me. This is the only place I went for help, and it was the only place I needed. Thank you Bethel Colony.

T.J. graduated in January, ’22.  The chains of addiction have been broken, being at Bethel has truly changed her life around.  She is working, she volunteers helping autistic children with horse therapy, she continues to stay in the Word, she goes to church with her family, she stays in contact with friends she made at Bethel daily and they all hold each other accountable.

Bethel equipped me with spiritual tools to know how to be successful in life. This place has lit the spiritual fire in my soul again.  I learned who I was in Christ; more than a conqueror!

The ministers are truly concerned with every student’s success.  Preachers and counselors have been in shoes that were once not walking with Christ but now are.  You cannot break the bonds of addiction without Jesus Christ.

Awesome teaching, great balance of teaching, structure, and discipline.  The application of Biblical teaching to real life – character, marriage, fatherhood, etc…Only place I’ve ever been with any substance to the teachings.

There is a small, beautiful mountain overlooking the unusual ministry here at Bethel Colony of Mercy. We’re in the amazing foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range on our busy campuses in Western North Carolina. God always speaks on this holy hill and victorious valley of heartfelt healing. It’s been that way for over 75 years. And by God’s grace and with your help, we will keep extending a hand of help to every lost and broken man, woman and family dealing with addictions. Love and truth are offered in the matchless name of Jesus. Hope lives here! Bethel Colony Of Mercy
Each new day at Bethel Colony of Mercy is a financial miracle. Why? Because, we live by faith and the generosity of individuals, churches snd businesses. A simple summary at our Medical Room window this morning made the point clear. While traditional drug & alcohol rehabs frequently charge exorbitant amounts for “patients” we have never turned a hurting “student” away for lack of funds. We are only able to do this because of the faithful, sacrificial support of friends like you! Be assured, we don’t waste anything and stretch each contribution to the maximum. We aren’t slick, fancy nor have exaggerated claims. We “suit up and show up” for battle each day knowing God and our faithful partners have gone before us. Pray for us and consider if Jesus is calling you to invest in this Kingdom ministry! We’re humbled and grateful for your support. 1st Peter 4:10 NKJV10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.#godprovides #bethelsupport#helpinghands #jesushelps ... When all the broken men and women finally come to Bethel Colony of Mercy they meet new friends and learn what true Christian community is about. There is healing in these circles and love never fails. It’s so beautiful to watch Godly friendships formed for Kingdom purposes! It happens here and on our scenic, mountainous women’s campus, every single day. Ephesians 4:1-3 NKJV1 I, therefore, the prisoner [a]of the Lord, [b]beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.#bandofbrothers #fellowship #unity #jesusmakesusone ... The many hurting men and women arriving each week at Bethel Colony of Mercy are so broken. They have a clouded view of the glory of God’s creation, love and transforming power! Life has often descended into dark alleys where the next shot, puff, pill or drink consumes days while sleepless nights fitfully follow. Wreckage churns in the wake of bad choices and real hope evaporates in dusty deserts of deep despair. But Jesus is our “HopeMaker” and God’s promises are true! Just a glance at the moon, stars and ever expanding universe gives a small glimpse of our Father’s power. We encourage every defeated soul to “look up because their redemption is close” and Jesus waits while knocking on the door of every heart. Believe, receive, trust and obey. A new life awaits. Psalm 8:3-5 NKJV3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit[c] him?5 For You have made him a little lower than [d]the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.#godlovesme #gloriousday #jesus #creationmiracle ... The Lowes in Lenoir NC is a key community business partner and very generous to Bethel Colony of Mercy. We are grateful! Lighting, paints, primers, home supplies, weed killers, cleaners and much more were picked up and delivered today! We live in faith and minister to our students because of community compassion expressed by churches, businesses and individuals. Pray about “helping us help others.” Love never fails! Acts 30:35 NKJV35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. We had very positive discussions yesterday with the leadership at the impactful Helping Hands Clinic in Lenoir NC which helps uninsured people with medical care. Bethel Colony of Mercy is pressing deeper into our strategic community partnerships as we anticipate our own strong ministry growth. We’re committed to be good neighbors. It’s also an opportunity for us to bring the simple love of God and healing words of Jesus to this hurting world and Caldwell County. Please pray God continues to give us His favor. Also, make sure to let us know your prayer requests. Our students take YOUR heartfelt needs seriously.
