A Christian Answer To Alcohol, Drug, & Substance Abuse

For The Addicted Seeking Freedom

BETHEL COLONY OF MERCY

We are a Bible-teaching ministry for those who are interested in a Christian approach to treating substance abuse and alcoholism. We teach the addicted that there is victory through Jesus Christ and the truths of the Bible. Our addiction treatment center offers classroom teaching, workbooks, audio tapes, personal counseling, and worship services. Bethel’s treatment center is primarily designed to produce in each person a more effective lifestyle in which he allows Jesus Christ to take control of his life to achieve victory over addictions.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE MINISTRY

Bethel Colony of Mercy is dedicated to helping men and women faced with drug and alcohol additions to overcome their struggle through Jesus Christ and the truths of the Bible.

Looking for a free (except for a minimal entry fee) drug and alcohol rehab with a faith-based approach using the Bible and Christian principles in counseling? Then, Bethel Colony of Mercy, located in Lenoir, North Carolina, is the place for you. With only an entry fee of $350.00, Bethel Colony is a 65-day residential program that teaches victory over sin through Jesus Christ and the Bible.

This is done through classroom teaching, audio tapes, counseling both at the Colony and online, homework, worship services, and work projects. Our program is designed to provide a vital context in which the students are encouraged to know Christ personally and to understand the practical outworking of the Word of God in meeting every need. Daily teaching, counseling, devotionals, guided personal Bible study and prayer provide the means by which these objectives are accomplished. This, combined with a disciplined schedule, healthful climate, nutritious food, and relaxing recreation, soon restores a measure of physical health and a more positive mental outlook. The students also participate in routine maintenance of the facilities, general upkeep of the grounds, and community projects. Bethel Colony’s program is primarily designed to produce in each student a more effective lifestyle in which he or she allows Jesus Christ to take control. Please read About Bethel Colony under Who We Are for more information.

TESTIMONIALS

I have personally seen the Lord use Bethel Colony of Mercy in a mighty way in the lives of so many, including myself.  As a former graduate, and now a pastor and Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader, Bethel Colony has been a tremendous asset to our church over the past 15 years.  Sometimes a person needs more than just a Sunday morning message and a weeknight meeting.  Bethel Colony is a safe, Christ-centered ministry that I recommend to anyone needing a spiritual transformation.

I can’t begin to express my gratitude for Bethel Colony of Mercy, as a Recovery Pastor, as a Dad and being in recovery for over 20 years myself it’s truly a blessing to see the life-changing impact that their program has on men and women bound by the chains of addiction. We have sent many to Bethel who have come out and used what they’ve learned to disciple others in their church and our Celebrate Recovery Program.
My own daughter was a raging alcoholic, living a life of sin and chaos…. But God! Something beautiful happened to her up on that mountain and she is forever changed and has become the woman of God He intended her to be. She’s now helping other women in their journey.
If you or someone you love is struggling and looking for freedom, it can be found in Christ Jesus at Bethel Colony of Mercy.

Going to Bethel changed my life in so many ways. They helped me understand the Bible and God’s word. Between the classes and personal counseling, I developed a relationship with God and he has rescued me. I developed lifetime friendships and they are always there for me. This is the only place I went for help, and it was the only place I needed. Thank you Bethel Colony.

T.J. graduated in January, ’22.  The chains of addiction have been broken, being at Bethel has truly changed her life around.  She is working, she volunteers helping autistic children with horse therapy, she continues to stay in the Word, she goes to church with her family, she stays in contact with friends she made at Bethel daily and they all hold each other accountable.

Bethel equipped me with spiritual tools to know how to be successful in life. This place has lit the spiritual fire in my soul again.  I learned who I was in Christ; more than a conqueror!

The ministers are truly concerned with every student’s success.  Preachers and counselors have been in shoes that were once not walking with Christ but now are.  You cannot break the bonds of addiction without Jesus Christ.

Awesome teaching, great balance of teaching, structure, and discipline.  The application of Biblical teaching to real life – character, marriage, fatherhood, etc…Only place I’ve ever been with any substance to the teachings.

Jesus made His purposes on this sad and sinful earth very clear. At Bethel Colony of Mercy, we are closely following on a simple path our only Savior made for us. We consistently tell battered and broken men and women there is no problem, tragedy, mess nor complicated life beyond the reach of our God. He sent His only Son to seek and save the lost, lonely and languishing. Find Him “worth the knowing” today! Nothing is more important. He is waiting for you. Luke 4:18-19 NKJV“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,Because He has anointed MeTo preach the gospel to the poor;He has sent Me [a]to heal the brokenhearted,To proclaim liberty to the captivesAnd recovery of sight to the blind,To set at liberty those who are [b]oppressed;19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”#salvation #jesus #savior #heismyrock #goodnews ... Each day and many evenings at Bethel Colony of Mercy the Bible is always put front and center with the men and women. We focus on God’s Word, the miraculous life of Jesus and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. There is no situation, circumstance or human disaster from addictions outside the mercy, grace, healing and forgiveness offered by our Messiah. The testimonies of changed lives are powerful because we serve the One in whom we “live, move and have our being.” NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! 2nd Timothy 2:15 NKJV15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.#studybible #godistruth #healoneisworthy #godistruth ... Phil Lambert is the Director of Housekeeping at Bethel Colony of Mercy. It’s a very big job managing lost and wounded souls to daily maintain a large, sprawling men’s facility. His “office” is filled with cleaning supplies and the scribbled names on the door of students he’s once managed. Some of the signatures sadly represent men who left and didn’t make it, Mops, brooms and buckets are only simple tools to teach service, humility and surrender. We are always in need of toilet paper, cleaning supplies and paper towels. Would you consider helping us meet those basic needs? And remember in prayer today each of the staff. We want people to EXPERIENCE JESUS in us! Your prayers and financial partnership is NEVER taken for granted as we minister to broken lives daily. Psalm 84:10-12 (AMP)10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God Than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.12 O Lord of hosts, How blessed andgreatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].#serve #housekeeper #love #cleanmyheart #bettertogether ... Throughout our 76 year history, churches have played a key role in the ministry and growth for Bethel Colony of Mercy. Working together we become the “hands and feet of Jesus” touching the broken world of addiction and more broadly our local communities and neighbors. Last week our men had the opportunity to serve along side a key local church with their Caldwell County community lawn-care and grounds project. Project Manager Barry Lessel said, “Our team helped Waterlife Church with the beautification of 22 local schools in Caldwell County. There were over three hundred and sixty volunteers. We have been a part of this project for the past few years.” Bethel is 100% committed as a ministry to be good neighbors and reflect the practical love of Jesus wherever we go! If your church would like to partner with our lifesaving mission, call or email today! 1st Peter 4:10 NKJV10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.#servingjesus #godlovesyou#lenoirnc #caldwellcounty #churchministry ... Every man or woman who comes to Bethel Colony of Mercy with a suitcase of sorrows will find love and truth. We don’t make the redeeming path to personal transformation hard. Neither did Jesus. Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take My yoke upon youand learn from Me, for I am[a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”#godchangeme #calvaryroad #jesusneverfails #liberty ...
